Ronda Rousey is quickly making a name for herself in the world of female mixed martial arts. MMA fans that weren’t familiar with the 24-year-old Californian before last weekend’s Strikeforce Challengers 18 certainly are now, as Rousey used her unparalleled judo skills en route to a submission victory that took about as long as a typical television commercial.

After the fight went to the mat just seconds into the 1st round, Rousey maneuvered an overmatched Sarah D’Alelio into what has quickly become her signature armbar submission technique, which takes an opponent’s arm…

Urijah Faber, the long-haired, natural-foods junkie known as ‘The California Kid,’ recently made his way into the ranks of the UFC as a result of its merger with WEC in late 2010. Faber proved to be up to the task, pummeling a spry Eddie Wineland with elbows and fists over the course of three competitive rounds.

In true UFC fashion, Faber was immediately looking toward the next step in his journey during the post-fight interview. “I want to get that UFC belt. Dominick Cruz, hide your kids, hide your wife,’…

Christian M’Pumbu Defeats Richard Hale in Bellator Season 4 Finale

Posted on 25 May 2011 at 11:41pm

Season four of the Bellator Fighting Championships came to an end with Christian M’Pumbu defeating Richard Hale for the Bellator light heavyweight championship.

The six-foot-four, 205 lb Hale had a significant size advantage over his opponent M’Pumbu, yet it proved to be a non-factor as the Congolese fighter’s elusiveness negated the power and striking ability of Hale. The bout was a see-saw contest; the momentum swaying between both fighters from round to round.

Round one was a clear victory for M’Pumbo, as he scored major points for knocking Hale to the canvas. Hale’s adept jiu jitsu abilities kept him…

With Shields out of the way, St. Pierre has officially dominated the welterweight class of the UFC. At this point, there are only a couple of…

Training partners Jon Jones and Rashad Evans swore they would never fight each other just weeks ago, but now it seems the pair of fighters are singing a whole other tune after Jones’ defeat against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua earned him a Light Heavyweight Title.

It seems as if Jones has become what Evans calls a bit “two-faced”, telling Evans one thing behind closed doors and the media another thing, even going as far as to talk about Evans’ performance during the pair’s sparring sessions. Now…
